Source: Dataset S1, associated paper. All hypocentres are taken from the archived kiban.out used by the author’s get_dataset.sh to export Dataset S1. Repeater sequence labels are joined by event ID from the archived plate catalogue. Events without a positive sequence label are shown as background; this does not establish that they are non-repeaters. Repeater membership and pair grouping agree with archived Dataset S2.

Map and lower panel share longitude; map and right panel share latitude; the two time panels share time. Map circles show fault radii at 32 MPa and scale with zoom. Magnitude differences are emphasized in both time plots, using M=3 as the reference. The slider changes symbols in both time plots. Click an event to pin its details.

Repeaters: stronger outlines; background events: lighter outlines. M_JMA ≥ 6: stars in all panels; orange stars mark map epicenters. Time-panel dashed line: 2011-03-11. Map rectangle: catalogue display bounds.
Depth (km):
Shallow → deep. Repeaters have stronger outlines. Stars: M_JMA ≥ 6. Dashed time line: 2011-03-11.

Display bounds: 141.35–142°E, 38–38.7°N, depth 5–90 km, All events in the supplied catalogue are included. No additional magnitude, depth, or plate-distance selection is applied. Repeater sequence IDs follow the sources described above.
Map: circular-crack radius at 32 MPa; M₀ = 10^(1.5 M + 9.1) N m, using catalogue M as an Mw proxy, as in mag2size3. Map circles show equivalent physical fault size, not mapped rupture outlines. Time plot: visual magnitude scaling. Data are embedded for offline use. Map lines: coastline (solid), prefecture boundaries (thin dashed), and catalogue display bounds (bold dashed rectangle). The map preserves local east–west and north–south distance proportions.
